Vestal Corporation – St. Louis, MO has partnered with Briggs of Burton – Pittsford, NY and Robinson Construction – Perryville, MO to provided Integrated Design/Build Services in support of the Anheuser-Busch’s $85 million expansion of its Cartersville, Georgia facility. “The expansion will support the creation of new brewing capabilities at the facility”, said Kevin Fahrenkrog, Senior General Manager of the Anheuser-Busch Cartersville Brewery. Fahrenkrog went on to say, “The U.S. beer industry is back to growth, and over the next three years, we will expand the brewery’s capacities to brew some of our best-selling brands right here in Georgia”.
Vestal’s scope of work was comprised of Architectural, Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical design which included, in part: selective demolition of mechanical, electrical, structural and equipment; site preparation, improvements, civil/mechanical utilities and electrical utilities; code review, permitting, life safety plan, master specifications, floor plans, insulated pre-cast concrete walls, roof system, CMU interior walls, foundations for new structures, new monorails, tank farm, platforms, stair towers, railings and racks; fire protection systems, process flow diagrams, HVAC, ductwork, process piping and plumbing; new lighting plans, emergency lighting plan, site lighting, cable/conduit, PLC panel layout, raceway details, hoist power supply, power panel layout, motor schematics, lightning protection, HVAC power and controls, new power feeds from substations to MCC’s, VFD specifications, short circuit and arc flash study.
Anheuser-Busch’s Cartersville brewery opened in 1993 and brews more than 20 of the company’s brands. It is the original producer of canned emergency drinking water for disaster relief. The Cartersville facility was Anheuser-Busch’s first brewery to be certified organic by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to brew and package Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold.
