Vestal Corporation, Carbolytic Materials Company

 (St. Louis) November 2008

Carbolytic Materials Company (CMC) breaks ground for their new plant in Maryville, Missouri.

CMC’s new proprietary product, ApexCMTM, is an alternative used for reinforcing and tinting rubber and plastics with carbon black.  The CMC process utilizes scrap tires in a unique, controlled environment that generates no odors or emissions, while collecting gas, oil and solid streams as finished products; thus achieving the ultimate goal of recycling the whole tire.  The new facility will process more than 15,000 tons of tires per year.

Richard Vestal, founder and president of Vestal Corporation, stated, “We congratulate Raymond Riek, president of CMC, and his entire team on the groundbreaking of this new facility.  Their commitment and contribution to the environment and to Missouri’s economy is significant.”

Vestal Corporation provided the engineering and architecture for the project and Key Construction - Kansas City is the General Contractor.
